More than you'd want to know about ...

I started my playing career in 1980 and I've been playing and teaching ever since.  That's a loooong time !  I'm 44 which is brilliant !

I'm trained as a drummer, orchestral percussionist and timpanist and as a conductor and I have played in a hundred rock bands, brass bands, wind bands and orchestras with venues as widespread as The Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Symphony Hall, Paris, Bonn, Norway and many other places that you won't be impressed with.  I've recorded loads of stuff but I haven't played with Take That  so none of it really counts.

For many years I was Musical Director and Drummer with R&B Big Band "The Mussolini Brothers" - Rock trio "SINK" - Bhangra band "Anamika", "Johnny Zee" and many more.  I now play for "Five Minutes to Midnight", a busy ceilidh band, as well as the usual bookings (you know, all those glamorous weddings). 

I was Tutor of the new Percussion Studies at M4P Summerscool at Giggleswick in Yorkshire this year and I'm returning in 2009.  I've passed my Master of Arts degree and have started my PhD researching Musical Instrument Tuition.

I have played and conducted in Europe and Scandanavia and maintain a busy playing and teaching practice in the UK. In fact I'm pretty ace !
