WORKSHOP Sat 22nd November 2-4:30 Intelligent Fills & Phrasing: a rudimentary and compositional approach

After the success of BAND DAY we're pleased to announce our next event. With guest educator SIMON WAGSTAFF we'll be learning about a robust and versatile approach to adding interest and energy to your playing.

2:00   CLINIC with Simon Wagstaff.  Simon will be discussing and demonstrating his playing and sharing his passion for Classic Drums.  Warning ! Simon is likely to choose willing victims to join him.

2:45   TRANSCRIPTION workshop with Laura Roberts from Aquinas College. Learn basic skills to help you understand and transcribe drum parts.

3:15   INTELLIGENT FILLS & PHRASING. An approach to composing fills that will enable you to be creative in any musical environment.  You will be able to try out your ideas with the DC Band.

There will be a draw on the day for prizes donated by TMC, Binley Road, Coventry.

COMPETITION: What, in Chris's opinion, should a PATAFLAFLA be really called.  Written answers on the day, all correct answers into a draw.

WHAT TO BRING: Sticks.  You may bring a Pad (on a stand) or a Snare (and stand) with muffler pad. A  notebook and pencil. A crisp £10 note.

After trying out the calendar for a month we've decided to withdraw it. You all used it to great effect however it was difficult to keep up to date with the constant changes in schedule and this made it misleading.  Thanks for your feedback and help with the experiment.
